As of the writing of this blog, the Red Sox record is 4 wins, 7 losses and one game out of the basement in the AL East. Yes it's early in the season. Yes I would rather we start slow and peak late. I don't care that it's only April... I hate seeing the Yankees and Tampa tied for first at any time in the season. Like 99% of adoring Boston fans, pondering the fate of our beloved Sox at any point in the season is like an involuntary reaction. I blame genetics.
For the past several years, my wife and I have held a "season opener" cookout at our home - an excuse to gather with a bunch of friends, watch a game and catch-up on current events. We typically hold this party during the first Sox-Yankees home game of the year but events conspired against us upholding that tradition this year so we picked the next best thing... a Sox-Tampa game.
